The headquarters in Frauenfeld (Thurgau) sets the pace for the globally sought-after Baumer sensor solutions. Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.

Electronic components are the basis of our innovative sensor solutions and thus an important success factor for our company’s success. As an operational buyer (a), you ensure that the right materials are available at the right time and that our production processes run smoothly. You work closely with development, production planning, quality, logistics, and strategic purchasing and operate in an international procurement environment. We are not looking for mere order processing but a personality who takes responsibility, thinks ahead, and actively contributes to the further development of our purchasing processes. What I drive

• You are responsible for the timely and economical procurement of electronic components and sustainably ensure material availability for our production.
• You maintain and develop partnership-based relationships with international suppliers in close coordination with strategic purchasing.
• You obtain offers, compare prices, negotiate orders, and support the preparation and conduct of annual discussions with suppliers.
• You work closely with production planning, development, quality, and logistics and actively contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What it takes

• You have a commercial or technical basic education with appropriate further training in purchasing.
• You bring several years of experience in operational purchasing of electronic components in a manufacturing industrial company.
• You use ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA, confidently in your daily work and are proficient with common MS Office applications.
• You communicate fluently in German and English, move confidently in an international environment, and are interested in modern technologies and AI applications.
