About the position

For a growing, internationally active company with several entities in Switzerland and Europe, we are looking for a personality for group controlling at the headquarters. The headquarters is located in the city of Zurich and is very well accessible by public transport. You are responsible for the group-wide planning and reporting system: data models, cubes, interfaces, automation. You build the infrastructure on which the group plans and decides - and you not only operate it, you further develop it. IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics is in use; relevant practical experience is a clear advantage, those coming from a comparable system environment will familiarise themselves.

Important: This is not a pure system role. You understand what lies behind the numbers, perform business analyses and are the contact person for the specialist departments. We are looking for the interface between BI and controlling - not the technician without numerical understanding and not the controller without system depth.

Your tasks

Systems & Data Models

- Operation, maintenance and further development of IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics - cubes, rules, processes

- Construction and optimisation of data models as well as interfaces to upstream systems

- Automation of recurring evaluations with Excel and VBA

- Ensuring data quality, consistency and traceability

Reporting & Analytics

- Design and further development of management reports and evaluations for corporate management

- Provision of reliable figures for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

- Support of budget, forecast and planning processes across all entities

Business Analytics & Collaboration

- Business analyses: variance analyses, business cases, decision bases

- Sparring partner for specialist departments and decentralised controlling units

- Integration of newly acquired companies into the existing reporting and planning landscape

Your profile

Professional requirements

- Education in business informatics, business administration with a system focus or equivalent qualification

- Several years of experience in BI or planning environment with financial reference - from a group, a corporation or implementation consulting

- Responsible experience with a planning and consolidation system - modelling, interfaces, further development, not just application - mandatory

- Practical experience with IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics is an advantage

- Very strong Excel skills including macros and VBA - mandatory

- Solid understanding of accounting and controlling - you know what you are modelling

- Confident handling of an ERP system; SAP FI/CO is an advantage but not a must

- Fluent German, good English
