Subject Responsibility "Cyber Defence Center"
The unit "Security Operations & Engineering" consists of two teams: the specialist areas "Identity and Access Management" and the "Cyber Defence Center" (CDC). The advertised position is located in the CDC. The main tasks of the CDC include the detection of cyber threats, the analysis of security events, and the handling of cyber security incidents.
- Technical management of the CDC specialist area with 6 employees: responsibility for the operation and further development of the CDC infrastructure, services and processes as well as the organisational and technical planning of the specialist area;
- Technical responsibility (and/or deputy) for the operation and further development of individual CDC services and technical components;
- Analyse, verify and assess IT security events, investigate security-relevant incidents and initiate countermeasures;
- Conduct threat analyses at tactical and operational levels, use the insights gained to improve detection and prevention. Inform stakeholders about relevant threats;
- Support automated vulnerability analysis and advise responsible parties on the risks;
- Ensure the 7x24 on-call service of the Cyber Defence Center in cooperation with your team colleagues.
- Degree in computer science (Bachelor/Master) with 10 years of experience in information security or in engineering/software development as well as further training in information security;
- Experience as a Security Analyst/Engineer in a Security Operations Centre and sound knowledge of relevant tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, Vulnerability Scanning, forensic analysis, etc.);
- Strong competence in technical leadership, analytical and conceptual skills, good communication skills, teamwork, service orientation as well as a conscientious and reliable manner. Experience in technical leadership is an advantage;
- Comprehensive understanding of information systems, networks, internet, data transmission protocols and operating systems (Windows, Linux);
- Good knowledge of modern attack and defence methods, technological developments and the current threat situation;
- Practical experience in detection engineering, especially with Sigma rules, YARA signatures as well as SIEM and analysis platforms;
- Script and programming skills preferably in Python, Bash and Powershell;
- Good oral and written German and English skills, French is an advantage.
