About the job
Do you want to make a difference? Are you a driving force who is organised and enjoys working in a team? Do you commit yourself freshly, competently and with great passion to a cause? Are you not just looking for a new role, but want to realise your vocation? We need to get to know each other.
Our company is growing. We are looking for you for our Schwerzenbach ZH location as
Cloud Engineer
with drive and experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure.
Your tasks:
You will further develop the CMI Cloud – the platform on which our solutions for Swiss administrations and schools run. This includes Windows and Linux servers, container workloads, networking, databases, deployment automation and observability. You describe infrastructure as code with Terraform, deploy it via our pipelines and ensure that new environments are reproducible and created in hours instead of days. You elevate recurring operational tasks into automation, make system behaviour visible through monitoring and logging, and drive hardening, patch levels and access concepts forward. Where an adjustment in code is the more direct route, you implement it yourself in C# rather than passing it on. In doing so, you work closely with product development and the operations team: you actively contribute your knowledge in the form of solution proposals and concepts and take responsibility for platform topics from idea to operation. Depending on strengths and interests, you take on further roles/responsibilities within our agile role framework.
You:
- have a higher professional education in computer science (ETH/UNI/FH) or a comparable qualification.
- bring several years of practical experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure, including container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- are proficient with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines and know Git as a natural working basis.
- enjoy automating with PowerShell, Bash or Python and are at home on both Windows and Linux systems.
- have knowledge of C# and the .NET environment and carry out minor adjustments to our components yourself.
- are familiar with observability from practice (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) and draw the right conclusions from metrics and logs.
- have solid network and security fundamentals (DNS, TLS/certificates, load balancing, hardening, patch and vulnerability management).
- are characterised by a high degree of personal responsibility, a thoughtful working style and an interest in new things.
- are fluent in German (spoken and written) and can communicate in English.
- enjoy mastering challenges and taking responsibility.
- are solution-oriented and have a can-do mentality.
- simply fit into our team – everything else is secondary.
We:
- work in a challenging and exciting environment with software solutions for the public sector.
- support and promote personal as well as professional training and development.
- give freedom for independent action and collaboration in a team with flat hierarchies.
- are a team that works methodically according to Scrum and agile principles.
- maintain a trust-based corporate culture as a Great Place to Work® certified employer.
- offer a modern workplace, flexible working hours, the possibility to work from home, additional holiday days and team events with heart.
