Deputy Head of Department with a Focus on Integration and Migration
Join us in working towards a more humane world!
To strengthen the Department of Health and Integration, we are seeking from 1 July 2026 or by arrangement a strategically minded, strong leader with professional expertise as Deputy Head of Department with a focus on Integration and Migration 70 - 80 %. Together with the Head of Department and her second deputy (focus on Health), you will jointly contribute to the further development of the department and the implementation of our mandate.
What you can achieve
- Strategic further development of the topics of integration and migration as well as co-design of the objectives and achievement of the Department of Health and Integration, including coordination with all relevant stakeholders
- Indirect leadership of the SRK Asylum and Refugee Service Uri (47 FTE) and the Integration and Migration area (9 FTE) as well as direct leadership of a staff member
- Monitoring relevant political developments and developing measures in close cooperation with the Public Affairs office
- Maintaining and further developing our networks inside and outside the SRK as well as representing the SRK vis-à-vis authorities and partner organisations
- Responsibility for crisis preparedness and management in migration issues
- Participation in overarching processes on topics such as corporate development and association work
- Collaboration with the International Department to ensure coordinated positioning of the SRK and to identify operational synergies
- Supporting the Red Cross organisations, especially the cantonal Red Cross associations, in shaping and further developing the service offerings in the areas of integration, migration and individual assistance
- Representing the Head of the Department of Health and Integration and assuming further overarching roles as agreed
What you bring with you
- Relevant university degree as well as solid expertise in migration and integration topics and experience dealing with migration-related structures and stakeholders
- As an experienced and successful leader, you have several years of experience with interdisciplinary teams and in managing change
- Strategic thinking, political sensitivity and high social competence
- Confident appearance towards authorities, politics and partner organisations
- Ability to analyse complex issues and act in a solution-oriented manner
- You look forward to agile working methods with few hierarchies and corresponding assumption of responsibility. Experience in role-based working is a plus
- First language German or French; excellent written and oral expression in the other language; good knowledge of English
- Experience in crisis management is a plus
- Flexibility and willingness for regular travel to Altdorf
