To strengthen our existing Key Account team, we are looking for a sales-strong personality with a solid understanding of the Swiss retail and consumer goods sector. You will strategically develop a defined key account portfolio, drive sustainable growth, maintain strong customer relationships, and actively shape the further development of our most important customers.
The position combines strategic responsibility with operational market proximity. The goal is to specifically expand sales and margin, open up new business opportunities, and consistently strengthen our brands as well as the private label business in the Swiss retail and wholesale environment.
Key Account Manager
Your role – making a real impact: shaping growth together with our customers
- Management and strategic development of a defined key account portfolio in Swiss retail and wholesale – with a consistently customer-centric approach
- Responsibility for sales, contribution margin, margin, and market shares including budget and forecast planning
- Development and implementation of customer-specific sales and growth strategies, including annual meetings and terms negotiations
- Building and maintaining sustainable customer relationships as well as independently opening up new sales channels, product categories, and "white spots"
- Continuous expansion of the existing product and brand portfolio with the managed customers (distribution, listings, shelf placement)
- Expansion of the private label business in close coordination with trading partners
- Active participation in shaping the portfolio and brand strategy for sustainable market development, including monitoring market trends and innovation fields
- Preparation of reports and market analyses as well as independent derivation of concrete measures to manage customer business
- Planning and agreement of promotions and campaigns with trade and ensuring timely implementation
- Close cross-functional collaboration with Sales Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure a consistent customer strategy, optimal product availability, and market-oriented implementation of growth initiatives
What you bring – key account management experience, negotiation & communication skills
- Completed studies (Bachelor FH/University) in business administration, marketing, economics, or a comparable field; alternatively, a higher commercial qualification (e.g. federal certificate/diploma in sales or marketing) with equivalent practical experience
- Several years of experience (5+ years) with proven success in key account management or sales, ideally in the consumer goods or food sector
- Solid experience with Swiss retail and wholesale customers, extensive market knowledge, and a reliable network in the Swiss trade environment; knowledge of the private label business is an advantage
- High personal responsibility, strong independence, and proactive working style – you recognise market opportunities early and drive them forward independently
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured approach to complex tasks
- Experience in cross-departmental project management
- Negotiation strength, assertiveness, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Communication skills, confident appearance, and strong relationship competence
- High team spirit and enjoyment of cross-departmental collaboration
- Very good German and English skills; French skills are an advantage
- Very good knowledge of ERP/CRM systems (ideally SAP), BI and planning tools, and confident use of MS Office, especially Excel
- Driving licence category B and willingness to travel within Switzerland
