Job Description

• Maintenance, review, and classification of product master data in the area of customs and trade compliance (e.g. customs tariff numbers, country of origin, preference and export control data)
• Advising and supporting internal stakeholders on customs, export control, and trade compliance issues
• Co-responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of export control and sanctions requirements
• Participation in cross-departmental customs and compliance projects
• Monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring compliance with legal requirements as well as internal guidelines
• Conducting training and awareness measures to promote compliance awareness
• Support during audits and official inspections
• Creation and further development of policies, work instructions, and process documentation in the area of trade compliance
• Support in the optimisation and further development of customs and trade compliance processes in collaboration with international stakeholders
• Key user for trade compliance applications as well as support with system adjustments and testing

Profile

• Technical, logistical, or commercial basic training
• Further training as a foreign trade specialist with a federal diploma, customs specialist, or comparable qualification is an advantage
• Several years of professional experience in import, export, or customs environment
• Experience in trade compliance and interest in international customs and export control topics
• Sound knowledge in the area of goods origin, preference law, and supplier declarations
• Knowledge in tariff classification and master data maintenance (HS codes, CH/EU/UK tariff classification)
• Good user skills in MS Office and ideally experience with trade compliance systems
• Very good German and English skills (level C1) spoken and written
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style
• High quality orientation, strong communication skills, and enjoyment in collaborating with various stakeholders
