SMIG173Migration Service (SMIG) - Social Asylum Office for Initial Reception (OSAP)
OSAS is one of the entry points for asylum seekers assigned to the canton by the Confederation. They are accommodated in collective housing centres, including the one in Perreux. During their stay, they receive social support from multidisciplinary teams and material assistance to meet their basic needs.
Your tasks
As a social worker at the Perreux centre, you contribute to the empowerment of individuals, taking into account their abilities, the institutional and legal context, as well as their rights and obligations.
Centre life and social supervision
You ensure the care (support and social follow-up) of the individuals assigned to you. In this context, you explain the centre's rules, prepare files, and manage arrivals. As part of the follow-up, you analyse the individuals' situations by establishing a professional relationship based on trust and respect.
You identify the individuals' options and help them make decisions and undertake the steps best suited to their situation.
Social assistance benefits
You calculate entitlement to social assistance in accordance with current regulations. You manage penalties, deposits, and allowances. You ensure the follow-up of their health records and the monitoring of network partners.
Organisation and administration
You participate in team meetings during which tasks are organised, daily schedules are drawn up, and care strategies are defined. You also participate, at the request of the office manager, in projects of the office and/or the service.
Your profile
Holder of a HES bachelor’s degree in social work or an equivalent qualification, you have at least two years of significant experience in a similar role and structure.
You are motivated by teamwork and demonstrate reliability by showing accuracy, rigour, and systematic working, while respecting work procedures and regulations.
You show a particular interest in the field of migration and have a genuine sensitivity to working with a multicultural public.
Flexible and possessing good analytical and listening skills, you are able to manage and defuse conflict situations thanks to your mediation skills.
You are versatile and solution-oriented but also hold a driving licence, essential for the role. Knowledge of the asylum field as well as English and/or other foreign languages is an asset.
This position is to be filled as part of maternity leave cover.
We offer you
