What you will achieve

• You ensure that data is not only available – but understood and utilised
• You develop and take responsibility for the data architecture across all divisions and value streams – both technically and functionally, from the target vision to feasibility
• You define central data objects such as customer, product, order and price, translate them into robust logical and physical data models and ensure consistent terms and key figures
• You design data flows and integration patterns between ERP, PIM, CRM, e-commerce and BI/AI platforms (batch, API, events) – captured once, used multiple times
• You shape the target architecture of the data platform (data warehouse / lakehouse), help build the central data basis for reporting and analyses and provide clear technical guardrails for data engineers
• You establish governance principles, quality criteria and responsibilities, anchor them technically and bring them into the data council
• You maintain the data catalogue, glossary and lineage and make the origin, use and responsibility of data transparent
• You advise divisions and projects on data matters and accompany initiatives from idea to go-live
• You are a sparring partner for data engineers, technical architects, business solution architects and IT

What you bring

• You bring structure to data and clarity to discussions
• Degree in computer science, business informatics, data science or comparable practical experience
• Several years of experience in data engineering as well as data architecture and data modelling, ideally also in data governance or master data management
• Sound knowledge of modern data platforms, integration patterns and data warehouse or lakehouse architectures – ideally in the Microsoft environment
• Very good SQL skills; experience with Python, ETL/ELT pipelines and interfaces
• Experience with data catalogues, glossaries and defining data responsibilities
• Understanding of business processes and key figures and their translation into data models
• Hands-on mentality, strong communication skills and assertiveness regarding data standards
• Pragmatism – focus on usable, maintainable data models rather than theoretical perfection
• Very good German in spoken and written form; English and French are an advantage
