With roots dating back to 1955, FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG is an established development partner and system supplier for sophisticated mechatronic solutions. Around 60 employees develop and manufacture customised systems for international industrial customers at the Schaan site – with high engineering expertise, a holistic end-to-end approach, and an uncompromising understanding of quality.
As part of an exclusive mandate, we are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded individual as Managing Director with a focus on Operations – Mechatronics, due to an upcoming retirement, who possesses strong implementation skills, operational excellence, and entrepreneurial foresight.
In this role, you will report to the Group CEO and assume overall responsibility for FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG at the Liechtenstein site. Your focus: operational excellence, sustainable profitability, and the continuous development of the organisation. This involves not only management but also active participation in day-to-day business to stabilise, optimise, and scale processes along the entire value chain. The goal is to sustainably increase the site’s performance and lay the foundation for the company’s next growth phase.
Your challenge
- Strategy & Corporate Development (~15%)
- You consistently implement the growth strategy at the Schaan LI site and further develop the company together with the group management.
- You drive the continuous development of processes, structures, and KPI systems.
- You identify potentials for sustainable improvements in efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.
- Leadership & Finance (~25%)
- You lead and develop your management team as well as the approximately 60 employees with a clear, binding, and appreciative leadership culture.
- You bear overall responsibility for the site, including P&L responsibility, and ensure the achievement of economic targets.
- You manage the areas of Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, HR, as well as Finance & Controlling effectively and efficiently.
- You maintain close and trusting cooperation with the Board of Directors and group management.
- Operations, Production & Supply Chain (~50%)
- You lead the operational day-to-day business with high presence and ensure smooth processes along the entire value chain.
- You ensure delivery reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness, and intervene early with controlling measures if necessary.
- You create transparency regarding operational performance and ensure that Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering work efficiently together.
- You promote a culture of continuous improvement and support optimisation initiatives.
- Sales & Existing Customers (~10%)
- You support existing key customers in close collaboration with the Group CEO and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
- You assist with demanding customer projects and escalations and represent the company’s interests confidently.
- You recognise market and customer potentials and actively contribute to sustainable business development.
Your qualities and talents
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (FH, University, ETH)
- Further education in Business Administration or Management is an advantage
- At least 10 years of leadership experience, including as a Business Unit Leader, member of executive management, or in the management of an SME
- At least 5 years of experience with P&L responsibility
- At least 5 years of experience in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or electronics manufacturing
- Profound understanding of operations topics as well as experience in engineering service business
- Implementation-oriented hands-on mentality with the ability to make decisions quickly and sustainably
- Intrinsically motivated personality with a drive and ability to shape things
- Fluent in German and English, additional language skills are an advantage
