About the job
The Thierstein district in the Solothurn Schwarzbubenland comprises 12 municipalities with over 16,000 inhabitants. The Social Region Thierstein association is responsible for statutory social assistance, voluntary social counselling, managing child and adult protection mandates, as well as mother and father counselling.

Social Worker: Asylum Social Assistance
Your tasks
As part of the Asylum Social Assistance team, you accompany asylum seekers, provisionally admitted persons (VA), persons with protection status S, as well as recognised refugees through their daily lives and support them on the path to a self-determined life. You independently manage social assistance cases, ensure the legally guaranteed subsistence level, and assist your clients with administrative, social, and personal matters. In doing so, you work closely with the specialist groups for asylum coordination and asylum care.
- You provide economic and personal assistance in accordance with social legislation
- You advise and support clients of various nationalities in diverse life situations
- You prepare budget calculations, arrange the payment of material support, and assert priority benefits according to social law and regulations
- You mediate in educational, employment, and integration programmes
- You maintain collaboration with professionals, social institutions, and authorities
Your profile
- You are an empathetic personality distinguished by flexibility, resilience, and positive thinking.
- You also hold a diploma in Social Work or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in statutory social work as well as sound knowledge of social assistance legislation and social insurance
- Enjoy responsibility and complex situations, have a networked way of thinking, act independently, have a sense of economy, and enjoy challenging quality work
- Knowledge of MS Office programmes (knowledge of KLIBnet is an advantage)
- Efficient and accurate file management
