We are looking for a motivated person for the role of Junior Data Engineer. You have a flair for data and engineering and initial experience in implementing data pipelines and AI applications to process heterogeneous and large data volumes and provide insights for our clients. You bring an interest in the latest analytics and AI technologies and have the corresponding theoretical background from your studies.
Your tasks
- As a Data Engineer, you work on challenging projects together with, among others, Data Engineers, Architects, and Scientists to build and operate state-of-the-art data analytics platforms. The role requires technical skills in analytics ecosystems with a focus on cloud infrastructure and open-source software
- You participate in one or more cloud data platform projects and help implement high-quality data pipelines, cloud data infrastructures, and AI applications
- You develop and configure components that manage data ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processing, data extraction, and transformation across multiple data sources and applications
- You help meet customer requirements regarding functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and reliability
- You work with business analysts and data scientists and help make the latest data AI technologies usable for our clients

Your profile
- University degree ETH/UNI/FH with corresponding programming experience in Python or Scala
- Experience with SQL, Spark, Kafka from studies, internships, or initial professional experience. First experiences with cloud and data platforms are a plus
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and building data pipelines
- First experiences with cloud and data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, or AWS are advantageous
- Experience with Linux, networking, web services, and containers. Initial experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) is a plus
- Interest in building modern cloud data platforms and implementing AI applications, applying current DevOps principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Enjoy working in a team but also independently
- Willingness to travel and willingness to work at least one day on-site with the client
