Assistant to the Technical Workshop Manager HVAC at CIT-S
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) of the CHUV is seeking an assistant to the technical workshop manager for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), with a workload between 80% and 100%, on a permanent contract. The starting date is planned for 1 November 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety of the CHUV (CIT-S) mainly undertakes operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance and consulting within its extensive property portfolio of more than 40 buildings on the main hospital site.
The 3 main missions of the Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) are:
- Construction and modernisation: ensuring the study and realisation of architectural projects, as well as the renovation of technical installations
- Operation: ensuring the maintenance of all technical and biomedical equipment, as well as the infrastructure of the CHUV and its affiliates. Guaranteeing the production and distribution of fluids and energy necessary for all medical, research, technical and administrative activities
- Protection and safety: ensuring the protection of property and persons.
Mission
- You assist the workshop manager in coordinating and organising the workshop as well as supervising about 20 technicians
- You independently manage and study projects of medium complexity and criticality within your field of expertise
- You provide your expertise in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration installations
- You ensure technological monitoring in your area of expertise
- You supervise and accept work related to the installations and equipment of the Hospital City
- You actively participate in the application of the quality system, notably in monitoring equipment, histories and reports, corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as supplier and maintenance contract follow-up.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in heating, ventilation or automation, or an equivalent qualification, complemented by a maintenance technician certificate and/or a federal group management certificate
- You have solid experience of at least 6 years in the operation and maintenance of technical installations
- You possess excellent knowledge and experience in the maintenance of hospital equipment and climate systems
- You have a sense of responsibility and are able to intervene in sensitive areas regarding the safety of persons and property
- You are proficient in reading plans and diagrams, as well as common office software and CMMS
- You have a good command of French, both spoken and written (minimum certified B2 level)
