The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a litre is always a litre (e.g. when refuelling), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments and consultations for business, research and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at societal and political levels, and is essential in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and have done so since 1862.
Your new challenge
- You support the management and executives by providing and analysing meaningful management information
- You further develop the existing reporting systems in terms of efficiency, transparency and quality and support the further development of cost and performance accounting
- You are jointly responsible for the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in SAP-CO/PS as well as for the preparation of the budget and forecast
- You share responsibility for all project accounting for internal departments as well as accounting for national and international research projects with financial reporting (e.g. Swiss National Science Foundation, Horizon Europe, EPM, Innosuisse)
- You act as an interface to accounting on closing-relevant issues and to the HR department
Your profile
- You have either a completed business administration education (university, university of applied sciences, higher vocational school), the Swiss Federal Certificate in Finance and Accounting or an equivalent recognised qualification
- You bring at least 10 years of professional experience as a Business Controller in industry; complemented by experience in project controlling
- You work independently and analytically and appreciate team exchange
- You are responsible and assertive with good communication skills (German, French, English)
- You have solid IT user knowledge in SAP (module responsibility SAP –FI/CO/PS), Business Objects (SAP BO) as well as a very high affinity for Excel and the MS Office suite
