Head of Militia Fire Brigade & Civil Protection, Company East

Protection & Rescue, as a service department of the Security Department, unites the professional and militia fire brigades, the medical service, and the operations control centre (ELZ) for emergency calls 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police, and a training centre with an affiliated Higher Technical School for Rescue Professions belong to the largest rescue organisation in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, property, and the environment around the clock in the city of Zurich, at Zurich Airport, and in the agglomeration.

Tasks

• Leadership of the Militia Fire Brigade Company East and Civil Protection Company
• Direct leadership of the militia cadre of fire brigade & civil protection
• Responsible for operations, leadership, and training
• Taking shifts as operations leader of the professional fire brigade

Profile

• Technical or commercial basic training with business management further education
• Operational and leadership experience as a fire brigade officer
• Operational experience as a civil protection officer, civil protection commander, as well as fire brigade instructor or civil protection instructor is an advantage
• Knowledge in the area of leadership support (fire brigade / civil protection)
• High commitment also outside regular working hours (pager duty)
