Finance and Project Controlling Specialist 80% International Educational Development (IB)

In the Vice-Rectorate for Continuing Education and Services, the International Educational Development (IB) department supports schools and organisations in the areas of democracy education, career orientation, life skills, and multilingualism. It provides further training for teachers, school leaders, social workers and authorities both domestically and abroad.

Finance and Accounting

• Responsibility for financial administration, accounts payable and receivable as well as payment transactions (excluding payroll)
• Supporting the department management with budgeting, multi-year planning, forecasting, annual financial statements and resource planning
• Preparing financial analyses at department and centre level

Project Controlling and Consulting

• Financial controlling of third-party funded projects including budgeting, reporting and audit support
• Advising managers and project leaders on financial management, key figures and contribution margins
• Interface between project management, project leaders and finance department

Further Development of Processes and Tools

• Development and maintenance of financial tools, templates and standards 
• Coordination and participation in the standardisation of financial processes in the Vice-Rectorate
• Further development of instruments for planning, calculation, analysis and management of continuing education and service offerings

• Commercial basic training with further education in finance and accounting or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in finance and accounting as well as sound controlling knowledge, ideally in project or third-party funding controlling in international cooperation
• Experience in budgeting, financial planning, analysis and reporting
• Very good Excel and solid Microsoft Office skills; interest in digital financial tools and data-based analyses. Power BI or comparable tools are a plus.
• Very good German and English skills; French and other languages are welcome
• Independent, structured and reliable working style as well as enthusiasm for process development
• Strong service and solution orientation as well as consulting competence
• Openness and enjoyment in collaborating with partners in diverse cultural and institutional contexts
