Department Secretariat SSD
To strengthen our team in the school division, we are looking for a committed individual from 1 January 2027 (or by arrangement) for a fixed-term position of one year with a prospect of permanent employment.
Tasks
- You support teachers in difficult class situations, carry out targeted class interventions to maintain school operations, and accompany students as well as professionals in acute crisis moments.
- You act as a competent initiator for schools and provide well-founded advice and information in the field of conflict management.
- You initiate, accompany and implement innovative projects for violence prevention and manage operational processes within the school system.
Profile
- You have a university degree in psychology, education, social work or socio-cultural animation. Further training in psychosocial counselling is a significant advantage.
- You bring solid experience in dealing with the target group; practical experience in class intervention is desirable.
- You possess strong methodological, didactic and communication skills. In addition, you are proficient in project management and have confident MS Office skills.
- You enjoy developing new methods and applying them purposefully. You have the ability to develop innovative approaches and implement them effectively in practice.

The Specialist Unit for Violence Prevention of the School and Sports Department is the central contact point for crisis situations related to incidents of violence at schools in the city of Zurich. We work in the areas of intervention, prevention, cooperation and empowerment to professionally support school management, teachers and students in challenging situations.
