Project Manager Drainage Planning / Hydraulics

Tasks
- You lead demanding sewer construction projects in the drainage business area and actively shape the future-oriented rainwater management of the City of Zurich.
- You assess sewer construction projects, analyse hydraulic relationships, and conduct technical negotiations with internal departments as well as external partners.
- You develop concepts, strategies, and decision-making bases for hydraulic, structural, and planning issues, using modern analysis and simulation tools.
- You make an important contribution to the further development of the General Drainage Plan (GEP), maintain hydrodynamic models, and coordinate services of external specialist planners.
- You work project-related as well as interdisciplinarily in close cooperation with the Civil Engineering Office, other municipal service departments, and internal working groups.
Profile
- Civil, cultural, or environmental engineer (FH / University / ETH)
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulics, urban drainage, and GEP processing, as well as solid experience with hydrodynamic simulation programmes and knowledge of databases, ideally scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Several years of professional experience in planning, designing, and realising municipal civil engineering and/or urban drainage
- Fluent German in spoken and written form (level C1)
- Independent and structured working style, strong stakeholder management, and enthusiasm for technically complex issues and their implementation
