Within PTD, Synthetic Molecules Technical Development (PTDC) specializes in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), drug products, and analytical sciences. PTDC plays a vital role in advancing the synthetic molecules pipeline, supporting research, early development, and clinical trials through technical innovation and collaboration.

This position is located within the Analytical Development for Synthetic Molecules department, where cutting-edge techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas/Ion Chromatography (GC/IC), and Mass Spectrometry (MS) are used to develop efficient and robust analytical methods. The goal is to ensure product release for clinical trials and subsequent commercial supply through a rigorous control strategy.

Your Responsibilities

• Development and optimization of robust analytical methods (e.g. HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, KF) for the quality assessment of starting materials, intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
• Planning and meticulous execution of experiments, including reaction monitoring and method development
• Close collaboration with process development and cross-functional partners to coordinate analytical activities and sample management
• Cooperation with the QC unit to ensure smooth transfer of developed analytical methods
• Preparation of high-quality documentation, including analytical procedures and reports supporting method validation and regulatory submissions
• Use of innovative approaches and digital tools to continuously improve analytical workflows

Must-Have Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as a Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant) or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, KF, and MS
• Proven experience in analytical method development
• Excellent scientific writing and documentation skills
• High quality awareness and exceptional attention to detail
• Proactive and self-driven working style
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• German is considered an advantage

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Knowledge of GxP requirements
• Experience with analytical method validation
• Previous experience in analytical development within pharmaceutical manufacturing or process development environments
