On behalf of the municipalities, the Cantonal Social Services Office fulfils the task of providing social and addiction assistance to people and supports them in accessing financial social assistance. To this end, it manages eight regional social services in the canton. The regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden is responsible for ten municipalities with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
Social counselling, addiction assistance and financial support
For the Chur location we are looking for a Secretary from 1 December 2026 or a date to be agreed. The position is currently fixed-term until 31 March 2028. There will probably be the possibility to extend the employment relationship.
- Contact person for users by telephone and at reception
- Providing initial general and specific information by telephone and at the counter
- Organisation and coordination of counselling appointments
- Support for social workers in administrative activities
- Independent handling of correspondence and general secretarial duties
- Independent submission of needs-based applications (e.g. scholarship applications)
- Recording and processing data in the electronic case management system
- Support for social workers in the introduction of the new case management system
- Requesting quotes and making notifications and changes with health insurance funds, liability insurance and competent migration authorities
- Other varied, interesting and responsible tasks
- Completed commercial training or equivalent education
- Good IT skills
- Empathetic, clear and service-oriented communication style
- Interest in social issues and working with people from different social backgrounds and/or cultural origins
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Independent, responsible and constructive working method even in hectic situations
- Precise and structured working method
- Knowledge of social insurance and foreign languages is an advantage
