We are looking for an IT Support Specialist (a) for clients in the Zurich area immediately or by arrangement.

Your tasks

• Assuming the role of primary IT contact person at the Zurich site as well as coordinating and escalating IT issues in close collaboration with local and global IT teams
• Ensuring comprehensive desktop and system support in the areas of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat / Creative Cloud, Oracle Client Tools, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
• Performing Install / Move / Add / Change (IMAC) activities as well as preventive maintenance to ensure optimal workplace and system availability
• Hands-on support for Windows server environments, Active Directory, and local network infrastructure – including switches, patch panels, and structured cabling – in coordination with central infrastructure teams
• Handling, coordinating, and tracking daily support requests via the ticket system including careful documentation, ongoing status updates, and transparent communication with users until successful resolution
• Supporting local backup, restore, and archiving processes as well as applying basic knowledge in ODBC connectivity and SQL client configuration
• Planning and executing endpoint deployments and imaging activities using tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and Autopilot
• Ensuring compliance with GxP, data integrity, and other regulatory requirements related to endpoints, infrastructure, validated processes, and change control procedures
• Conducting IT onboarding training for new employees as well as ongoing support and advice to end users to promote efficient use of the IT work environment
• Supporting on-site work in cabling, installation of local network components, as well as fault analysis and troubleshooting of network devices

Your profile

• Completed tertiary education in computer science or a related technical field – alternatively, comparable, solid practical experience in the IT environment
• Several years of professional experience (approx. 3–5 years) in technical support with broad know-how in desktop, server, and network areas
• Very good English skills, both spoken and written; German skills are a great advantage for this role
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and the entire Microsoft 365 environment; experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Defender, Oracle Client Tools, and Citrix environments is desirable
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networks, DNS, DHCP, VLAN concepts, and basic configuration of network switches
• Experience with endpoint deployment and management tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and Autopilot
• Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented working style, and a high level of service and customer orientation
• Microsoft certifications – for example in Azure Administration, Windows Server Hybrid Administration, or Modern Desktop Administration – are a clear advantage
• Experience in regulated environments and ideally in supporting laboratory or analytical instruments is advantageous
• Willingness and availability to work fully on-site at the Fehraltorf / Zurich location
