Surgical Instrument Technician (IDDO or TSO) in the Maternity Operating Theatre

The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) is seeking a surgical instrument technician (IDDO or TSO) at an 80% activity rate to join the maternity operating theatre as soon as possible.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.

The DFME brings together the services of gynaecology, obstetrics, neonatology, paediatrics, and child and adolescent surgery. More than 1,500 professionals work within the department to ensure comprehensive and continuous care from birth to adolescence, as well as throughout the gynaecological life of patients.

The maternity operating theatre consists of three intervention rooms intended for gynaecological and obstetric surgeries, either emergency or scheduled. It is located near the delivery suite, the recovery room, and continuous care. The staff provide care, assistance, and monitoring services during the pre- and perioperative periods, in close collaboration with the medical-surgical teams.

Mission

• You assist in specialised interventions within a defined clinical unit
• You have the opportunity to develop versatile skills in different specialisations of the operating theatre
• You apply hygiene and safety measures, taking into account the specific risks to patients and medical devices
• You collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to care for operated patients, ensuring a quality welcome and support.

Profile

• You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing specialised in the operative domain (IDDO) or a diploma as an operating theatre technician (TSO)
• For foreign diplomas, Red Cross recognition is mandatory
• You show a strong interest in the fields of gynaecology and obstetrics
• You have a keen taste for interdisciplinary work and have demonstrated team spirit and collaboration
• You possess strong communication skills, good stress management, and adapt easily to a variable work pace
• You are organised, dynamic, and capable of effectively managing priorities
• You are flexible regarding working hours.

The salary grade will be between 9 and 10 depending on the candidate’s profile.
