Project Manager Electrical Systems – Customer Projects Switzerland, 80–100 %

Your role and responsibilities

In this versatile role, you are responsible for the successful execution of customer projects for medium-voltage switchgear and other electrical engineering solutions in the Swiss market. You manage your projects from order acceptance to delivery and successful completion and are the central contact person for our customers.

You work closely with the project and engineering teams of our international manufacturing sites as well as with local specialist departments. You take on a portfolio of projects of varying sizes and ensure that deadlines, costs, quality, and contractual requirements are met.

This position is assigned to the Medium Voltage Switchgear business unit within the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Switzerland.

Your main tasks:

• End-to-end project responsibility: You lead several customer projects from order acceptance to delivery and completion and represent ABB as the central contact person to our customers.

• Planning and coordination: You plan and control schedules, scope, and interfaces and coordinate collaboration with international manufacturing sites, plant project management, engineering, production, logistics, and local partners.

• Commercial project management: You monitor project costs, risks, changes, and claims, identify deviations early, and implement appropriate measures together with internal and external stakeholders.

• Project completion and continuous improvement: You are responsible for customer acceptance, project documentation, and commercial closure and actively contribute your experience and lessons learned to the further development of our project execution.

Qualifications for the role:

• At least three years of experience in independently managing multiple customer projects as well as demonstrable end-to-end responsibility for projects with corresponding technical and organisational complexity.
• Proven professional experience with electrical systems, electrotechnical products, or electrical system solutions. An electrotechnical education or a related degree and experience with medium-voltage switchgear is advantageous.
• Proven skills in managing schedules, costs, risks, changes, and interfaces in an industrial, customer- and supplier-oriented environment.
• Very good German and English skills to conduct demanding customer discussions, escalations, as well as commercial and contractual agreements independently and confidently.
• A structured, independent, and pragmatic working style as well as the ability to prioritise, transparently manage several projects of varying sizes, and act solution-oriented even in case of deviations.
• Practical knowledge of common project management and collaboration tools. A project management certification at entry level or a comparable qualification is expected. Applicants with demonstrable practical project management experience and the willingness to complete the certification through our internal project management programme will also be considered.
