An internationally active technology company develops and operates business-critical digital platforms and communication solutions. For the Infrastructure & Network Engineering team, we are looking for an experienced individual with a focus on network and security infrastructure.
Your Responsibilities
- Planning, operation and further development of data centre, office and cross-site networks
- Configuration and support of Cisco switches, routers and other network infrastructure
- Operation and further development of Palo Alto firewalls as well as maintenance of security policies
- Administration of site-to-site and remote access VPNs as well as connections to external partners
- Operation of BGP routing and control of internet traffic
- Management of VLANs, routing, NAT, network segmentation and IP address spaces
- Support of internet uplinks, carrier connections and connectivity between different sites and data centres
- Planning and implementation of network architecture, upgrades and lifecycle activities
- Monitoring of availability, performance, capacity and network traffic
- Analysis and resolution of network, routing, firewall, VPN, DNS and connectivity issues
- Use of Wireshark for analysis of network and protocol traffic
- Maintenance of network documentation, configuration backups, inventories and operational documentation
- Implementation of network segmentation, hardening and measures to resolve security vulnerabilities
- Review of firewall rules, access permissions, firmware versions and security configurations
- Support with installation, cabling and replacement of network hardware in data centres
- Support with Linux, DNS, DHCP, NTP and other infrastructure services
- Network-side support for SMPP, SCTP and SS7/SIGTRAN connections
- Support for office networks, WLAN and other corporate IT services
- Participation in incident management, infrastructure changes and compensated on-call duty
Our Requirements
- Solid practical experience in TCP/IP and enterprise networking
- Good knowledge of Ethernet, VLANs, switching, routing and network segmentation
- Experience with firewalls, NAT, access control and VPN technologies
- Practical experience with Cisco or comparable enterprise network components
- Experience with Palo Alto or comparable firewall platforms is an advantage
- Knowledge of BGP, internet routing and cross-site connectivity is an advantage
- Experience with Wireshark and packet-level troubleshooting
- Understanding of network monitoring, capacity management and configuration backups
- Basic knowledge of Linux and infrastructure administration
- Knowledge of Proxmox, Ceph, ZFS or virtualisation is an advantage
- Experience with SMPP, SCTP, SS7 or SIGTRAN is an advantage
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking as well as high personal responsibility
- Team-oriented and communicative personality
- Training in IT, network, cyber security, computer science or a comparable qualification, e.g. computer scientist EFZ, ICT system and network technician, cyber security specialist, CCNA or comparable
- Very good English skills; German is an advantage
- Residence in Switzerland
