Networks are your home – from classic enterprise setups to modern SD-WAN and SASE architectures? You don’t just want to operate but actively develop, automate, and secure? Then you fit perfectly into our team.
- Network operation & architecture: You plan, operate, and optimize complex enterprise networks – from core to access layer. Switching, routing, and segmentation are part of your daily routine, as is working with protocols and technologies like Spanning Tree, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, Multicast, or QoS.
- Network Security & Firewalls: You take technical responsibility for building, configuring, and securely operating firewall and security solutions – including those based on Fortinet and Versa Networks. You ensure clean segmentation, policies, and secure transitions between network zones.
- Multi-vendor environments: You feel comfortable in heterogeneous network landscapes and work confidently with solutions from various manufacturers such as Cisco, Fortinet, Versa Networks, or F5. You recognize when each stack plays to its strengths – and integrate the components into a stable overall platform.
- Teamwork & collaboration: You work closely with colleagues from engineering, regularly exchange best practices, and support knowledge building within the team.
- Customer focus & collaboration: You take technical responsibility in customer projects – from requirements analysis through design and implementation to operation – and work closely with sales and manufacturer partners, e.g., in pre-sales phases (RFP, RFQ).
- Professional development: You help to further develop our engineering standards, share your knowledge (e.g., in internal workshops or whitepapers), and are a sought-after sparring partner for technical questions.
HOW YOU SUCCEED
- Education & experience: You have a degree in IT or a comparable technical qualification and bring at least five to six years of experience as a network or network security engineer – ideally in 2nd and 3rd level support as well as in project environments.
- Network understanding: You have deep knowledge of switching and routing technologies and know relevant protocols such as Spanning Tree, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, Multicast, and QoS. Network segmentation and secure architecture concepts are a matter of course for you.
- Security & firewalls: You have practical experience with network security and firewalls – especially with solutions from F5, Fortinet, and Versa Networks. Ideally, you also have experience with F5 BIG-IP and NGINX.
- SD-WAN & campus networks: SD-WAN is not just a term for you; you have already been involved in operation, rollout, or migration. Experience in wireless and campus networks is a plus.
- Automation & scripting mindset: You are confident with Python or have a demonstrable interest in further developing your skills in this area. You bring a fundamental automation and "infrastructure-as-code" mindset.
- Certifications: You have at least a current CCNP or FCP level or a comparable vendor certification – or are willing to obtain it soon.
- Soft skills: You convince with analytical thinking, joy in complex troubleshooting, a clear, solution-oriented demeanor, and high service orientation towards our customers and colleagues.
- Language skills: You communicate confidently in German (at least C1 level) and have good English skills – both written and spoken.
