The Migration Office operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues. We are responsible for foreigner permits, implement the federal foreigner and asylum law, issue biometric Swiss passports and foreigner identity cards, and provide care and integration in our asylum centres.
The Migration Office is looking for an
Administrative Officer in Administration and Finance (m/f/d)
for the Sonneblick Asylum Centre in Walzenhausen/AR from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: Walzenhausen/AR
What to expect
- You manage the administration of the centre and handle the files of asylum seekers
- You prepare lists, statistics, and accounts and take on diverse administrative tasks
- You organise admissions and discharges and support social and health administrative processes
- You manage the telephone switchboard and counter service and process incoming and outgoing mail
- You coordinate appointments and consultations, liaise with municipalities, authorities, and advisory centres, and handle correspondence
- You organise meetings and take minutes
- You take on tasks in the financial area, especially in accounts payable, cash management, as well as invoicing and billing
What distinguishes you
- You have completed a commercial apprenticeship EFZ and ideally have some professional experience in an administrative environment
- You enjoy working in an organised manner, keep an overview even in a varied workday, and complete tasks reliably and carefully
- You enjoy contact with people and approach different stakeholders with appreciation, openness, and service orientation
- You have good IT user skills and quickly familiarise yourself with new programmes
- You work independently, think proactively, and actively contribute as a committed team member
- Foreign language skills and a category B driving licence are advantageous
