About the job
You design the architecture of an information system that the caseworkers of the social insurance institutions work with daily – from incoming mail through case processing to outgoing correspondence to the insured persons. The role combines two perspectives: the solution architecture of the system with projects, requirements and decision-making – and, based on that, the ICT architecture of the underlying platform layer.
What you will achieve
Responsibility for the technical architecture of the information system – from the business component to the platform layer
Development and evaluation of solution architectures for projects and new requirements
Further development of the target architecture and modernisation roadmap: decoupling of sub-applications, replacement of outdated components
Design of the integration architecture – API design and gateway policies, messaging topologies, synchronous and asynchronous coupling including error and restart behaviour
Architecture of authentication and authorisation across components: token flows, directory integration, permission provisioning
Design of the system for availability, resilience and operability across multiple instances and stages, including observability and update strategies
Technical management of suppliers, evaluation of their implementation against the agreed architecture and negotiation of technical solutions
Making technical risks and debts visible – and representing the consequences to business units and programme management
Setting technical standards for security, compliance and integration, also where they extend beyond the own system
Why you will succeed
Completed studies in computer science (FH, university, ETH) or comparable qualification
Several years of experience in an architecture role as well as in the technical management of external suppliers
Further training/certifications in the ICT field desirable (ITIL, TOGAF, Arc42, iSAQB)
Thinking in distributed systems: consistency models, transaction boundaries and error behaviour between components are familiar to you
Experience with integration architecture in heterogeneous landscapes: API design, messaging topologies, synchronous and asynchronous coupling (IBM MQ, Kafka or comparable)
Knowledge of modern identity architectures (OIDC, SAML, LDAP, RBAC)
Experience with containerised platforms in enterprise operation (Kubernetes, OpenShift), including tenant and stage separation
Experience with operational architecture: observability, update and maintenance strategies, availability targets
Experience with document management systems and workflow engines is an advantage
Ability to document technical decisions in a structured manner and to represent them against resistance
Very good German and good English skills
We offer

Challenging modernisation projects in a complex, business-critical system landscape

Attractive training opportunities
At least 25 days of holiday and modern employment conditions
