System Engineer Network
The Network Services unit, located within IT Infrastructure, is responsible for networks and network security components as well as central infrastructure services.
It holds strategic responsibility in these areas for the evaluation, design, and implementation of new technologies and operates these systems.
- Operation and further development of our network and network security components;
- Developing and operating technical processes for automation and orchestration of tasks in our environment;
- Main responsibility for individual specialist areas after a thorough induction period;
- Ensuring the availability of our environment within the framework of the 3rd-level on-call service after careful familiarisation.
- Knowledge and experience with infrastructure and network products (e.g. Cisco, Extreme Networks, Fortinet), as typically operated in medium and large corporate networks;
- Experience with orchestration tools, preferably with Ansible and a system-level programming language, ideally Python;
- Knowledge of network services (DHCP, DNS, load balancing, proxy);
- Team-oriented, systematic, curious, resilient, and willing to pursue personal development and familiarisation with new specialist areas;
- Good oral and written German and English skills, French is an advantage.
