Job DescriptionAs Head of Technology Operations, you will take responsibility for an experienced technical department and report directly to the CTO.
You combine strong leadership skills with a solid technical understanding and entrepreneurial thinking. You ensure a stable and highly available operation while continuously developing the organisation, processes, and technological infrastructure.
A key part of your role is to set clear priorities, make decisions independently, and implement a sustainable technological roadmap together with your teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading, developing, and empowering an experienced technical department including subordinate leadership responsibilities
- Ensuring a stable, reliable, and highly available technology and infrastructure operation
- Strategic and technological advancement of the existing infrastructure
- Developing and implementing a sustainable technology and infrastructure roadmap
- Managing strategic infrastructure, modernisation, and transformation projects
- Further developing structures, processes, standards, and responsibilities
- Active management of business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational risks
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external technology and service partners
- Evaluating technological developments and deriving suitable solutions for future business requirements
- Close cooperation with the CTO on technological, organisational, and strategic matters
You are an experienced leader with a solid technical background and feel comfortable in a dynamic, internationally oriented technology environment.
You take responsibility, provide orientation, and are used to making decisions independently. At the same time, you have the technical competence to understand, critically question, and further develop complex infrastructure and architecture topics together with experienced specialists.
Additionally, you bring:
- Several years of disciplinary leadership experience in Technology Operations, IT Infrastructure, Network Operations, or a comparable technical environment
- Experience in leading and developing highly qualified technical specialists and ideally other leaders
- Solid technical background in several areas such as Network, Systems, Data Centre, Virtualisation, Cloud, Storage, Backup, or Infrastructure Operations
- Experience with business-critical and highly available technology environments
- Proven experience in the advancement, professionalisation, or transformation of technical organisations
- Strong entrepreneurial thinking and high personal responsibility
- Ability to align technological decisions with business requirements and priorities
- Experience in an international environment, ideally combined with experience from a medium-sized, growth-oriented, or dynamic organisation
- Valid work permit for Switzerland or EU/EFTA citizenship required
- Very good English skills; German skills are an advantage
