The Regional Prison Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a secure, structured and responsible execution of various types of detention. Your tasks

In this role, you take on the operational management and professional development of the Custodial Coordination area.
You ensure a uniform and quality-assured custodial practice in accordance with the requirements of the AJV and the Penal Enforcement Concordat of Northwestern and Central Switzerland. You review the quality of custodial plans, accompany central custodial decisions and progressions, and ensure effective case management with professional reporting. In this context, you conduct internal and external case and custodial meetings, support the social services staff and maintain professional exchange with referring authorities and other partners. In this regard, you further develop tools, concepts and work processes and contribute interdisciplinarily in meetings, supervisions as well as project and working groups.

Your profile

You have a completed higher professional education (HF/FH/University) in social work, law, criminology or an equivalent qualified education related to the penal system.
You bring 3 to 4 years of professional experience in a comparable field of responsibility, with a similar clientele and/or in public administration.
Very good German and French skills, both spoken and written, are required. Additional language skills are an advantage.
You convince with pronounced communication skills, intercultural competence and ability to work in a team.
Your structured and goal-oriented way of working as well as your strong planning and organisational skills distinguish you.
A sense of responsibility, quality orientation, commitment and perseverance complete your profile.

About the Office of Penal Enforcement

The Office of Penal Enforcement (AJV) is responsible for open and closed penal and measure enforcement for adults and juveniles within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID) with around 1000 employees. To fulfil this task, the office has four concordat penal institutions, four regional prisons, the surveillance station at Inselspital, the detention control centre as well as probation and enforcement services at its disposal.
