The State Chancellery is the staff office of the Government Council and supports it in the fulfilment of its government and leadership tasks. It ensures the coordination of government affairs, provides central services for the cantonal administration and guarantees the connection to the Cantonal Council. It accompanies the digital transformation of the cantonal administration and supports digital projects and business processes, especially in legal matters. For the Business Analysis and Digital Law Department we are looking for a Lawyer Digital Law, 70-80% at the Solothurn location from 01.02.2027 or by arrangement.
Your responsibilities
- As a specialist in digital law, you advise on IT, data protection and digitalisation law issues and assess legal risks.
- You accompany digital projects early on from a legal perspective and derive concrete requirements for projects and business processes.
- You identify the need for legislation in connection with the digital transformation and process or initiate corresponding legislative projects up to the decision-making stage.
- You legally assess technological and regulatory developments, especially in the areas of AI and cloud, and derive the need for action.
- You build an administration-wide digital law network and promote professional exchange as well as the development of common legal standards, guidelines and work aids.
Your profile
- A completed university degree in law and in-depth knowledge of IT, data protection and digitalisation law are prerequisites.
- You have several years of professional experience in the legal support of digital projects, preferably in public administration or a comparable environment.
- Experience in professional leadership or project management is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a good understanding of technical, organisational and procedural contexts characterise you.
- An independent and solution-oriented working style as well as strong communication and advisory skills complete your profile. Very good German and English skills are required.
