Routing, Security, Automation: Build the network platform for a connected future.
Complex networks are your playground? Then an engineering role with technical depth, international scope, and plenty of creative freedom awaits. The spectrum ranges from highly available WAN structures to modern security concepts and network automation.
Responsibilities:
Engineering and further development of an international network platform
Design of robust connectivity solutions for different locations and environments
Development of network and security concepts for critical IT services
Planning of routing, switching, and firewall architectures
Implementation of network segmentation and secure communication paths
Technical support for infrastructure projects and global rollouts
Responsibility for complex 3rd-level cases and root cause analyses
Optimisation of WAN provider services and network connections
Management of technical escalations with external providers
Building reproducible test environments for new network and security technologies
Conducting technology tests and proofs of concept
Development of scripts and automations to standardise network processes
Improvement of monitoring, telemetry, and proactive network operations management
Maintenance of network standards, architectural guidelines, and technical documentation
Exchange with cloud, security, infrastructure, and operations teams
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience as a network engineer, network architect, or infrastructure engineer
Solid knowledge of enterprise networks and IP-based communication systems
Very good knowledge of routing, switching, and security
Experience with Cisco environments, ideally complemented by Meraki or Nokia know-how
Practical experience in analysing complex network faults
Experience with OSPF, VRF, VLAN, VPN, QoS, and comparable technologies
Understanding of highly available and redundantly designed network architectures
Interest in network automation, Python, and infrastructure as code
Experience with monitoring, network telemetry, and performance optimisation
Ability to document and communicate technical concepts clearly
High quality awareness and independent working style
Enjoyment in critically questioning existing network architectures and further developing them technologically
