About us
The Dean's Office of the Medical Faculty is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern.
The Dean's Office Administration for Teaching and Research department ensures the operation of the Dean's Office around the core processes of teaching and research as well as operational areas such as finance. In future, the area of sustainability will also be located within the Dean's Office Administration team. We are looking for a person for the position of Sustainability Specialist with a focus on project initiation and implementation from the beginning of November 2026 or by arrangement. The position is initially limited to four years (faculty requirement).
Your tasks as a Sustainability Specialist
Tasks in the area of sustainability:
- Design, implementation and monitoring of activities in the area of climate and sustainability within the Medical Faculty, including the teaching area
- Monitoring and support of measures in the subject area
- Initiating project ideas, implementation and evaluation of projects (including further development of teaching)
- Leading and/or supporting, reporting and presenting projects and activities in the subject area
- Coordination work in the Commission for Sustainability and Planetary Health
- Coordination of the implementation of the faculty's climate roadmap
- Organisation as well as preparation and follow-up of project meetings and meetings including minute-taking
- Contact person inside and outside the faculty
- Coordination of thematic exchange
- Administrative and operational tasks in the area of sustainability
Your profile
- University of Applied Sciences degree (Bachelor and/or Master level) in the field of sustainability or comparable education, corresponding professional experience is not necessarily required
- Confident German, very good knowledge of English, French skills an advantage
- Proficient in common IT applications
- Quick comprehension, independent working style, ability to work in a team, high reliability, ability to prioritise between different tasks
- Enjoyment in communicating with partners from different disciplines, independent writing of texts and reports on sustainability, supervising and leading project groups, taking on project responsibility including reporting and presentation
