Operational Support Scientist / Vision Specialist

To strengthen our Visual Inspection and Packaging team, we are looking for a motivated

Operational Support Scientist / Vision Specialist (m/f/d)

You are an expert in automatic visual inspection (AVI) of semi-finished products produced at the Bern site and work in this role within a team in close collaboration with the plant's functional management, the AVI line group leaders, and other Operational Support Scientists.

Your main tasks include:

• Responsibility for the qualitative and timely completion of the production order, as well as ensuring GMP-compliant procedures during the automatic inspection of products
• Responsibility for defining the operational inspection process on the automatic visual inspection line (using optical systems and image processing software) and applying it in routine operations
• Responsibility for the continuous development and optimization of the inspection process/vision system (analysis/parameterization/development) including operational project management to implement improvements on the plant
• Defining, creating, qualifying, inventorying, and general maintenance of defect patterns and test sets
• Responsible for planning, conducting, evaluating, and documenting threshold studies
• Supporting qualifications on the plant
• Investigating deviations
• Representing as SME during regulatory inspections
• Creating operating instructions and documents including training of employees
   

Your qualifications and professional experience:

• Technical or scientific education preferably with further training (HF/FH/University) and/or initial experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industry and in a GMP environment
• Advanced knowledge in optics / image analysis systems / software parameterization is an advantage or strong interest in these areas
• Independent working style and quick comprehension in handling new topics
• Knowledge in project management
• Proactive and analytical personality who understands how to analyze and improve existing processes
• Clear and open communication style and the ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders from different disciplines and manage their needs
• Willingness to be on call duty
• Fluent German and good English skills (spoken and written)
