Job Description

Your main mission will be to ensure the operational management of the machining workshop to guarantee the achievement of production objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs and deadlines, organise human and technical resources, ensure compliance with the manufacturing schedule and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Your responsibilities:

Production Management

• Plan and coordinate the workshop activity
• Ensure compliance with the production schedule and customer priorities
• Optimise the workload and capacity of production means
• Guarantee the availability of equipment and necessary resources
• Monitor workshop performance indicators
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions

Team Management

• Supervise, lead and unite production teams
• Organise assignments according to skills and production needs
• Manage schedules, leave, absences and replacements
• Conduct annual interviews and performance evaluations
• Participate in recruitment and integration of new employees
• Develop versatility and skills of teams
• Ensure a positive and constructive social climate

Quality

• Ensure the application of quality procedures in the workshop
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and technical specifications
• Analyse non-conformities and lead action plans
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with quality, methods and industrialisation departments
• Ensure control means and self-checks are mastered

Management of Production Means

• Supervise CNC milling and electrical discharge machining activities
• Ensure proper functioning of equipment
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance interventions
• Participate in investment choices and technical improvements
• Guarantee availability of tools, tool holders and consumables

Safety and Environment

• Enforce safety rules and internal procedures
• Identify risk situations and implement preventive actions
• Participate in accident and incident analyses
• Ensure compliance with environmental instructions

Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives
• Propose and manage productivity improvement projects
• Reduce setup times, scrap and machine downtime
• Participate in digitalisation and process optimisation

Qualifications

• With a technical background in mechanics, micromechanics or polymecanics, you have at least 5 years of significant experience managing a CNC machining workshop, ideally in milling and electrical discharge machining. You master issues related to the manufacture of precision parts and have a good knowledge of industrial production processes
• Rigorous and results-oriented, you know how to plan and organise workshop activities to ensure deadlines are met, resources optimised and equipment performance maintained. Your ease in managing priorities allows you to make decisions quickly while maintaining a high level of quality requirements
• A recognised manager, you support the development of your collaborators’ skills, encourage versatility and ensure a positive and motivating work climate. Your communication skills and hands-on approach enable you to collaborate effectively with methods, quality, maintenance and logistics departments
• With an analytical mind and continuous improvement spirit, you are a driving force for optimising processes, reducing non-quality costs and improving workshop productivity
