Job description:
Working within the Purchase-to-Pay team, you will support purchasing activities across several internal business areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing internal purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness
- Creating and processing purchase orders
- Checking quotations, supporting documents and required approvals
- Determining whether purchases are covered by existing contracts
- Reviewing standard contractual terms and escalating exceptions
- Ensuring purchasing activities comply with internal policies and controls
- Maintaining accurate procurement and financial data
- Following up with internal stakeholders when information is incomplete
- Responding to purchasing-related questions from different business areas
- Supporting the team with other Purchase-to-Pay activities as required
About the customer:
This entry-level opportunity is particularly suitable for someone who has recently completed further education and would like to gain practical experience within a professional Purchase-to-Pay environment.
Previous purchasing experience is not essential. Our client is primarily looking for someone who is highly organised, academically strong and attentive to detail, with professional German and English language skills. An internship or up to two years of relevant experience would be beneficial.
Requirements:
- Degree in Law, Business Administration, Real Estate, Facilities Management or a comparable field; alternatively, a relevant commercial diploma or other further education
- Professional working proficiency in German, ideally at B2/C1 level
- Good command of English
- Strong attention to detail and a careful, structured approach to work
- Ability to manage several requests and priorities simultaneously
- Confident communication skills and a service-oriented attitude
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Genuine interest in procurement and motivation to develop in this area
Previous purchasing experience is not required. However, an internship or up to two years of experience in procurement, purchasing, finance, accounts payable, contracts or business administration would be advantageous. Exposure to an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle would also be helpful but is not essential.
