Cloud & Datacentre Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is: a professional and personal IT service provider operating high-performance systems in its own secure datacentres in Switzerland. The company offers everything from a single source, from server housing and cloud storage to backup and disaster recovery solutions, as well as virtual workspaces and team collaboration. The team is experienced, flexible, and relies on modern technology to implement customised IT solutions for SMEs.
Role:
A varied position in the field of cloud and datacentre infrastructure offers the opportunity not only to use modern IT platforms but to operate and further develop them yourself. We are looking for a technically skilled individual with experience in virtualisation, networking, and Microsoft system environments.
You will accompany customer projects from conception through migration to handover and, together with the team, take care of system support. Additionally, you can contribute to automation projects and new technical services. A straightforward working environment with short decision-making paths and home office options rounds off the role.
Responsibilities:
Administration and optimisation of virtualisation, storage, backup, and network platforms
Implementation of customer projects including system setup, migrations, and adjustments to security infrastructure
Support of hosted customer environments and ensuring stable operation
Assistance with technical faults and participation in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support
Conducting on-site deployments at customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein
Collaboration with software development on automations and the introduction of new infrastructure services
Qualifications:
Practical experience in systems engineering or administration of complex IT environments
Sound knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
Experience with Proxmox or VMware vSphere
Good knowledge of networking technologies such as VLAN, routing, and switching
Independent, solution-oriented working style and ability to explain technical matters clearly
Fluent German and Swiss German skills as well as a category B driving licence
