For our client in the telecommunications sector, we are looking for an experienced individual as a Senior ICT System Engineer Open Source (m/f/d) for an exciting and challenging project in Bern
Your tasks
- Installation, integration and configuration of applications on Linux servers (RHEL) and OpenShift and on existing systems (e.g. LDAP, SSO, mail, backup, reverse proxy, Active Directory, monitoring)
- Automation (e.g. with Ansible)
- Support of operational departments in troubleshooting
- Creation of documentation, user manuals and instructions
- Training and introduction of new tools
- System development & automation:
- Further development of the existing infrastructure (redundancies, automation, logging, monitoring)
- Further development of scripts and tooling (Python and Shell)
- Collaboration with DevSecOps, network and security teams
Your profile
- Technical qualification (EFZ) with further education (FH/HF) in computer science desirable
- Sound knowledge in Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
- Experience with container orchestration, ideally OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Proven experience in the implementation and operation of open source applications on Linux and container platforms
- Good understanding of:
- Network technologies
- Web servers (Apache, Nginx)
- Databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- IT security concepts
- Confident handling of automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
- Experience with automation of infrastructure and operational processes according to the principles:
- GitOps
- Infrastructure as Code
- Everything as Code
- CI/CD
- Willingness to undergo a Swiss personal security check (PSP)
