Wädenswil is an attractive town on the left shore of Lake Zurich with 26,000 inhabitants. Around 380 employees work in the city administration, providing comprehensive services to the population daily.

The Social Services department belongs to the Social Affairs division and is responsible for advising and supporting people with social and/or financial problems in the areas of social assistance and adult protection.

To strengthen the Social Work team within Social Services, we are looking for an committed and motivated individual by arrangement as

Social Worker, 90 to 100 %

Focus on Social Assistance or Focus on Adult Protection – you choose your focus

Your areas of responsibility in the focus on Social Assistance include

• independent and comprehensive case management in economic and personal social assistance according to the Social Assistance Act and the Asylum Care Ordinance
• advice and support for people in difficult life situations.
• promotion and support of professional and social integration
• administrative tasks
• participation in working groups (as required)

Your areas of responsibility in the focus on Adult Protection include

• independent and comprehensive mandate management in the area of adult protection on behalf of the KESB Horgen
• advice and support for people in difficult life situations
• administrative tasks
• participation in working groups (as required)

What you bring

• a tertiary-level education, preferably in Social Work, ideally further training in social insurance or law
• great interest in social assistance and social insurance law issues or in managing adult protection measures
• administrative skills, good German language skills in spoken and written form, and confident handling of numbers
• networked thinking, structured and efficient working methods, as well as resilience
• high social competence, empathy, transparency, and a pronounced solution orientation
• positive attitude and ability to work in a team
