The Winterthur District Court handles first-instance criminal and civil proceedings from the entire district, encompassing both rural and urban life situations. Around 80 employees work at two modern locations, processing approximately 7,000 cases annually.

Senior Court Clerk 50%
Your area of responsibility
In this role, you are responsible for supporting and further developing the court’s digitalisation processes. In particular, you will take on the following tasks:
- Support of digitalisation projects (especially Justitia 4.0)
- Analysis of existing and implementation of new internal operational processes within the framework of the digitalisation of the judiciary
- Planning and conducting internal training sessions as well as supporting and accompanying employees in the introduction of new digital
work processes and applications
Together with the two other Senior Court Clerks, you will also share responsibility for key tasks in the areas of court organisation, administration of justice, and human resources, in particular:
a) Legal case management
- Legal advice to authorities and offices, especially peace courts and debt enforcement offices
- Substitute judge assignments (single court) as well as further legal work in all district court proceedings
b) Member of the court management
- Preparation and implementation of the court management’s business
- Participation in organisational and personnel matters
- Assistance in the preparation of annual and interim reports, drafting personnel requests, and other business communication with
the higher court
- Management and organisation of the construction, maintenance, and logistics area, especially support of the project for the spatial expansion of the
Winterthur District Court
- Communication with authorities, offices, and third parties
c) Human resources
- Management and organisation of the legal and administrative offices
- Selection and hiring of legal and administrative office staff
- Participation in employee evaluations, promotions, and work references
- Personnel management and planning, including support and advice
d) Accounting
- Supervision of accounting and the court treasury
- Budgeting, invoice control, preparation of annual reports
e) Conciliation authority in tenancy and lease matters
- Administrative management and chairmanship of the conciliation authority in tenancy and lease matters
f) Holiday cover for the other two Senior Court Clerks

Your profile
For this varied and at the same time responsible role, we are looking for an independent and resilient individual with organisational talent, strong teamwork skills, and assertiveness, very good IT knowledge, as well as an interest in digitalisation and change processes. Reliability, flexibility, and efficiency are expected, as well as a decisive, pragmatic working style. In addition to very good legal qualifications and several years of court experience, you preferably have leadership experience and a lawyer’s licence. Qualification and willingness to act as a substitute judge in all areas of law are also required.
