The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of cantonal roads as well as hydraulic engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. We also take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 civil engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 metres and tunnels up to 3 kilometres long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountainous canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. We are looking for a Head of Land Acquisition for the Services Department from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement.

Your area of responsibility

• Management and organisation of the Land Acquisition specialist area with two employees
• Representation of the Department of Civil Engineering or the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Mobility in negotiations and public notarizations related to land acquisition for cantonal road construction
• Drafting contracts for land register entries and adjustments
• Application for judicial evidence preservation
• Review and assessment of compensation claims
• Application and organisation of expropriations
• Responsibility for surveying and marking completed projects as well as updating the parcel register
• Support and advice to municipalities and offices in the Land Acquisition specialist area

What we expect from you

• Completed training as a real estate trustee with land register administrator licence or comparable qualification
• Professional experience in a similar role is an advantage
• Assertiveness, communication and negotiation skills as well as high social competence
• Structured, independent and precise working style
• Analytical and networked thinking ability
• Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
