METAS – or the Federal Institute of Metrology – is the reference institute in Switzerland for measurements and measuring instruments. To ensure that a litre is always a litre (for example when you fill up), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments and provides advice to the economy, research and administration. A trusted source, especially socially and politically, metrological accuracy is essential in many fields: road traffic, electricity billing, time dissemination, environmental and health measurements, etc. In short, at METAS, disciplines have been coexisting and interacting since 1862.
Your new challenges
- operate, maintain and develop the server infrastructure, particularly Microsoft technologies and sometimes Linux
- plan, design and implement IT infrastructure solutions in a hybrid system environment
- operate and develop the technical infrastructure of data lakes in close collaboration with the Data Science team
- supervise and develop key aspects of the infrastructure such as Active Directory, access management, IT security, backups and lifecycle management
- plan and execute a selective migration of infrastructure, services and applications to the cloud, respecting IT security requirements.
Your profile
- Federal VET Diploma in IT and further education at a university of applied sciences or equivalent qualification
- extensive experience in operating and developing IT infrastructures, ideally in complex or hybrid system environments
- proven knowledge of the Microsoft environment and experience with on-premises, hybrid and cloud infrastructures
- experience in planning, designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, and knowledge in areas such as Active Directory, access management, IT security and backups
- team spirit and initiative, autonomy, openness to technological developments and willingness to provide on-call service at weekends on a rota basis with other team specialists; communication ensured in one official language (German or French) and good knowledge of a second official language and English
