Senior Data Engineer (fixed-term)
The Applications Statistics unit develops and operates platforms, tools and services for the collection, processing and analysis of extensive data from banks and companies operating in Switzerland. The information thus obtained makes an important contribution to achieving the SNB's objectives. Within the framework of projects, you will work closely with data scientists and economists in developing new solutions for managing and analysing granular data (e.g. individual credit data).
- Significant contributions to the design and development of a powerful data infrastructure on the Bank's Big Data platform, in an agile multidisciplinary project team;
- Implementation of complex data pipelines with high availability, scalability and security requirements;
- Further development, maintenance and operation of applications and data processes;
- Support for users in the specialist departments in using our applications and utilising the data in demanding specialist processes;
- Improvement and further development of our automation of test, build and operational processes.
- University or university of applied sciences degree in Data Science or Computer Science (Master's or Doctorate), very good knowledge in the areas of Data Engineering and Software Engineering;
- At least three years of relevant work experience in data architecture, data processes or data management;
- Experience in the design, development and automation of scalable and high-performance data applications;
- Very good programming skills in Python / Spark / SQL;
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with a high implementation focus and confident handling of complexity;
- Good team and communication skills in multidisciplinary contexts; high learning ability and willingness to take responsibility;
- Very good knowledge of German as well as English.
