Communication Specialist and Media Spokesperson

Protection & Rescue Zurich (SRZ) unites, as a service department of the Security Department, the professional and militia fire brigade, the ambulance service, and the operations control centre (ELZ) for emergency calls 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police, and a training centre with an affiliated Higher Technical School for Rescue Professions (HFRB) belong to the largest civilian rescue organisation in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, property, and the environment around the clock in the city of Zurich, at Zurich Airport, and in the agglomeration.

Tasks

• Design and implementation of communication measures for the entire spectrum of internal and external communication of Protection & Rescue Zurich
• Media work/event communication: handling media enquiries, writing press releases, accompanying interviews, independent and active management of the media landscape
• Topic research, conception and production of multimedia content (especially videos) for all channels
• Collaboration in various projects
• Organisation of events

Profile

• University, university of applied sciences degree or postgraduate studies in communication
• Several years of experience in corporate communication as well as media work
• Project experience and good organisational skills
• High affinity for social media and tools
• Willingness to perform 24-hour on-call duty (approx. 10 weeks per year)
