Head of Patent Department (m/f/d) 100% - Member of the Executive Board
In this role, you bear overall responsibility for the strategic, professional, personnel, financial and organisational management of the Patent Department. You provide guidance, set clear priorities and create the framework conditions in which experts can work independently. Together with the Executive Board, you shape the further development of the entire IGE and take responsibility for joint decisions. You ensure customer-oriented and economical service delivery, promote cross-departmental collaboration and specifically develop processes and competencies with a view to digitalisation and AI. You represent the IGE credibly and with institutional tact vis-à-vis politics, business, science as well as national and international partner organisations.
Leadership Personality with Foresight
You have substantial management and leadership experience in a demanding expert or knowledge organisation and know how to lead through direction setting, trust and clear expectations. You handle complex governance structures and diverse stakeholder interests with confidence; you act consensually and team-oriented in the management body.
A university degree forms your professional basis; very good business administration knowledge and a pronounced understanding of financial, organisational and strategic control issues are prerequisites. A scientific or technical background, experience in a regulated or innovation-driven environment and knowledge of intellectual property are advantageous. Decisive are strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, empathy, political sensitivity and ability to change. Very good German and good French skills are required; good English language skills are welcome.
