What you can look forward to.
You can expect an exciting and challenging 24-month paid second training to become a police officer at the Transport Police. You will complete the first year of this training at the Police School Amriswil (TG). In the second year, you will gain valuable practical experience on the front line in the exciting daily life of the railway environment. You ensure, through citizen-oriented police work, that people feel safe on public transport. Instead of administrative routine, the focus is on deployment close to the action – across cantonal borders and embedded in a strong, appreciative team. More information about the profession, training and the Transport Police can be found here . How much Transport Police is in you? Find out at the SBB Job Challenge on 7 November at Zurich HB. Get to know the police profession and the training, ask your questions and take on the challenge: at the Hang Challenge, the Transport Police quiz and a look inside the emergency vehicle.
What you can achieve.
- As a police officer of the SBB Transport Police, you ensure safety, calm and order together with over 200 colleagues nationwide in stations and public transport of various transport companies.
- Your focus is on uniformed patrol services in transport vehicles, stations and on the premises of transport companies.
- In your role, you make a significant contribution to the safety of travellers and staff in public transport.
- During police interventions, you take responsibility in the team and in cooperation with partner organisations – also at major events.
- You work situation-oriented and are always at the pulse of what is happening in public transport.
- You earn the trust and respect of customers through appreciative and responsible behaviour.
What you bring with you.
- You present yourself openly, respectfully and professionally and meet customers with a strong service orientation.
- For the challenging and varied work as a police officer, you have mental stability, physical robustness, flexibility and a quick grasp.
- You are a Swiss citizen, at least 21 years old and hold a category B driving licence.
- For your application, you need a participation certificate from the Police Requirement Test in Hitzkirch (www.zukunftpolizei.ch).
- You have completed vocational training or an equivalent qualification such as the Matura and have very good oral and written German skills (level C2). Knowledge of a second national language is an advantage.
- In the application process, we will require a current criminal record and debt collection register extract from you (not older than 3 months). You can order the documents when invited for a personal interview.
Your salary and benefits.
The classification during the second training is based on the function and age. More about the specific salary for this role can be found under Lateral Entry .
