Social Worker at the Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service
As part of the opening of a new hospital unit linked to the increased capacity of the Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy West Service (SPPAO), we are looking for a social worker at a 70% activity rate, for a permanent contract, within the Prangins hospital. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy West Service (SPPAO) is part of the CHUV Psychiatry Department. It provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for people suffering from mental disorders in the western region of the canton of Vaud.
The service teams bring together many health and psychosocial professionals to offer person-centred care focused on the individual, their environment and resources. They favour a community psychiatry approach, integrated into regional networks and promoting continuity of care.
Mission
- You carry out psychosocial assessments and support hospitalised patients with complex social issues
- You identify needs and assist patients and their relatives with administrative, social, professional, legal and relational procedures
- You work closely with various partners in the medico-social network to promote continuity of care
- You carry out interventions outside the hospital (institutions, CSR, Justice of the Peace, accommodation structures, etc.) when the situation requires it
- You participate in the development and monitoring of accommodation and reintegration projects adapted to patients’ needs
- You actively contribute to interdisciplinary work and clinical reflections conducted within the unit.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor HES-SO in Social Work or an equivalent qualification (SEFRI recognition required for foreign diplomas)
- You have a strong interest in the field of mental health
- You possess good knowledge of Swiss social insurance
- You are familiar with the Vaud medico-social network, administrative, legal and accommodation structures as well as associated specialised platforms
- You demonstrate autonomy, initiative and good organisational skills
- You have excellent interpersonal, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- You enjoy teamwork and show flexibility, openness and a strong spirit of mutual support
- You hold a driving licence
Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary scale will be between levels 8 and 9.
