The Institute for Continuing Education and Services supports teachers, school and day-care centre leaders in their work with a wide range of further education and advisory services, educational media and other services.

The Cross-Reality Media Centre (XRM) supports and inspires teachers in lesson design with innovative and practice-oriented educational media and services – from analogue to digital.

Your tasks

• Content-related, strategic, personnel and financial responsibility for the Media Library portfolio
• Ensuring the operation of the Media Library (selection, acquisition, cataloguing, preparation, use), coordination and leadership of specialist groups as well as training of apprentices
• Evaluation, further development and visibility of the offerings, oriented to the needs of the customers
• Development of an Open Library concept and its implementation
• Collaboration with the other offering portfolios of the institute
• Participation in the further development of the XR Media Centre
• Leadership and participation in projects
• Building and maintaining a network with strategic and subject-related partners inside and outside PHBern

Your profile

• University degree in library and information science or a related field
• Many years of professional experience in the library environment
• Leadership skills and enjoyment in working with a committed team
• Strategic and analytical thinking
• Problem-solving and innovation skills
• Planning and organisational skills
• Teamwork, communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to accept criticism, resilience and perseverance
