Nurse at the day hospital - cardiology and interventional radiology
The Heart-Vessels Department of the CHUV is looking for a Nurse at the day hospital in cardiology and interventional radiology with a workload between 60% and 80%, to strengthen its team. The starting date is scheduled for June 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The cardiovascular field is one of the centers of excellence that our institution wishes to strengthen. To achieve this strategic axis, the general management decided to bring together from January 1, 2017, under a single department cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, angiology, and the experimental cardiology unit.
The medical expertise and state-of-the-art equipment of these services allow offering patients the best possible care and ensuring the training and research dedicated to a university hospital, with multiple national and international collaborations.
This position is part of a projection to expand interventional technical platforms over the coming years.
Mission
- You ensure the pre- and post-intervention care of patients in interventional radiology (cardiac and peripheral catheterization)
- You welcome and care for patients in cardiology and interventional radiology (cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, interventional radiology)
- You perform care and monitoring after outpatient examinations
- You prepare and organize the return home or hospitalization in the appropriate department
- You contribute to the prevention and therapeutic education of patients.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma (or an equivalent title, as well as recognition from the Red Cross for staff qualified abroad, mandatory)
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in an acute care unit
- You have an up-to-date BLS-AED certification
- You hold a module 1 or 2 certificate in intermediate care, a CAS in cardiology, training in intensive care, emergency, or anesthesia, an asset
- You have excellent clinical judgment, anticipation skills, and reactivity
- You are rigorous and precise, responsible, show initiative, good adaptability, and technical skills
- You demonstrate flexibility to work in a multidisciplinary team in a constantly evolving environment
- You have the ability to manage stress and act in emergency situations.
