An experienced ICT professional with a focus on virtualisation is sought for the operation and further development of a local data centre infrastructure. The systems are operated directly at various locations and must function reliably and securely even without an external network connection.
In this role, you will work on the planning, implementation, and optimisation of virtual platforms and support the stable operation of the entire ICT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Planning, implementation, and operation of on-premises platforms for server and client virtualisation
Configuration and optimisation of the virtual infrastructure from hardware to operating system
Further development of the virtualisation environment regarding availability, security, and data integrity
Participation in the operation of the VMware-based infrastructure as well as support for other ICT areas
Analysis of performance issues, errors, and capacity requirements
Documentation of system configurations and processes as well as collaboration with other infrastructure specialists
Qualifications:
IT education with further training or comparable technical qualification with many years of experience in virtualisation
Experience in planning, implementing, and operating IT platforms
In-depth knowledge of VMware or Broadcom virtualisation, ideally with VCF and NSX
Knowledge of storage technologies such as vSAN, SAN/FC, block storage, file storage, or S3 as well as Cisco Intersight is an advantage
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform and a strong security awareness
Independent, analytical working style as well as very good German skills and good English skills
